Character Information
Character Name: Peter Jason Quill, aka Star-Lord
Canon: MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy
Canon Point: Post Movie
History: Peter's MCU wiki page.

Personality: Star-Lord is a half-human by the name of Peter Jason Quill and is a self proclaimed 'legendary' outlaw. There is a whole lot of stuff to take in from the one sentence alone, but let's take it one step at a time. Or try to.

His early years were on Earth living with his mother, who was a single parent and had cancer. Peter, not knowing how to handle his mother's worsening condition would get into a lot of fights with other kids at school, usually over the other kids being bullies of some sort. If not to him to other people or things. It seemed like he had a good relationship with his mother, but her illness made it harder for him to feel comfortable around her, having a hard time even looking at her near the end of things. When she does pass away Peter can't bare to look at her in her last moment or take her hand as she begs him, which he regrets and holds with him as the years go on. So all in all, he's not a bad kid, just not the best at handling his emotions and lashes out cause of it, though always at people who needed a kick in the ass anyway. Peter means well, even when he does bad sometimes.

And then he's abducted the moment after his mother passes away by aliens, yep that's right, and taken from Earth by a centaurian named Yondu and his motley crew of ravagers. Taken in by them, though he was technically supposed to be cargo and brought to his father, also an alien of unknown origin, Yondu decides to keep Peter and raise him. Skip ahead 26 years later and Peter is no longer a little boy, in fact he's been raised to be a pretty damn good thief, though he wants to be his own man and not stuck with Yondu and his group anymore. Even has an outlaw name, Star-Lord, which is later revealed to have been a nickname his mother called him (her little Star-Lord). Though much to his dismay the name doesn't stick with people, usually they get it wrong or mock him for having a 'code name'. So he's working on that whole legendary thing.

Much like his younger self he gets into trouble, a lot. Comes with the life he's been dragged into of course, being a ravager, thief, going to planets across the galaxy and finding artifacts and stealing things to make a living. Though he does seem to enjoy it, who wouldn't? He has his own spaceship, the Milano, after all and can go where he pleases, though oddly enough he never returns to Earth once he's got the means to. Even with relatives back on his home planet, it seemed that Peter felt that there was nothing really left there for him since his mother was gone, though we can't be sure exactly. Yondu does comment at one point that Peter never cared about Earth anyway, so maybe he's made statements to the fact of never going back or not seeing any point in it.

With a some what cynical outlook on life, Peter still manages to be an upbeat and sarcastic sort, always joking around or making quips. Usually dropping 80's references every where that no one ever gets as they're not from Earth like him, but as it's all he has from his childhood he continues to spout them any chance he can get. When he's not calling someone a ninja turtle, he's using Footloose and Kevin Bacon to prove a point to Gamora. That head filled with references to Earth culture isn't just for useless information of course, he's actually quite a quick thinker, which has saved his skin on more than one occasion, or diverted a bad situation into a not so bad one. Such as him putting one of his rocket boosters on Gamora when she's trying to get the orb from him and he uses it to get him off her so she doesn't kill him, or distracting Ronan by dancing and singing when it's absolutely absurd to. Quick on his toes, but sometimes eccentric in the way he goes about things.

Now he is a selfish little shit, looking out for number one and all that, he does work amazingly well in a team, with some help from his training and up bringing from Yondu, easily falling in with Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Drax and escaping from the Kyln. Even then it was still mostly about himself and getting a pay out on the orb, because money is good and all that. Of course as things start to really hit the fan, Ronan getting a hold of the orb, which is actually an infinity stone that is pretty damn powerful, and seeing that his way of doing things isn't going to work. It's Gamora and what she does and sacrifices to try and keep the stone out of Ronan's hands that gives him the push in the right direction, bringing back that need to stand up for the innocent and protect even if it's a sure thing that he's gonna get an ass whooping for it. Course this time he's not standing up for a little dead frog, he's gotta convince everyone to go against a kree tyrant who has the power to destroy a planet by merely touching a stone to the ground.

Even before everyone agrees to help, with no odds in their favor, he doesn't seem like he's going to just give up, that he may have to convince Yondu and the ravagers have a go at it without Gamora, Groot, Rocket and Drax, but having them stand with him certainly makes it easier. Peter and the others fight almost to the bitter end to make sure Ronan doesn't succeed. When they finally get the infinity stone away from the kree, Peter doesn't even hesitate to make a grab for it, when earlier on in the movie they made a point to show that holding the stone was certain death. In the end Peter is still that little boy, to some degree, picking a fight he may not win because people are hurting those who don't deserve it. Sure he's a thief and an egotistical certified ahole, but he's also a good guy under that. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of prodding for him to show it.

Through it all the most important thing to Peter is his mother, even though she's been gone for years. As much as he was the light of her life, she was his too. Watching that light of his go out was hard to take. In a sense he's a little boy who never wanted to grow up, but he had to quickly with circumstances in his life. Yet with the songs that she gave him he can still have that part of his childhood forever and have her with him too. Which is why he is so very protective over his walkman and the tape within it. It's basically his mother, in essence. It's how he continues to have her in his life and 'talk' to her. By dancing and singing along to the songs she so loved and passed onto him.

Items on your character at canon point: His typical attire, pants, shirt, red leather coat, boots, rocket boost attachments, ear pierce that turns into his helmet, his two quad blasters (guns) and his walkman with headset (and the mixtape inside).

Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:

Abilities - He's an expert marksmen with a multitude of guns across the galaxy and is an excellent pilot. Of space ships at least, though no doubt with some work he could be a great airplane pilot? Maybe. Who knows. Peter is also a pretty decent fighter, whether using his quad blasters or in hand to hand combat he can do some damage, it also helps that he's rather durable.

Strengths - Being half human and half... something yet unknown, Peter has a bit more endurance than most humans. It takes a lot to really wear him down in battle and he can take his hits and punches a lot better than a normal human could. Peter is even able to hold an Infinity Stone on his own for a surprising amount of time, though people will argue it's because he's not fully human, then again it could be because he IS half human. Who knows. He's also got a sharp mind and is a quick thinker when the going gets tough or he needs to figure something out, utilizing what he has and what's around him to stay ahead as best he can. Peter is also a good team player, when he wants to be or it benefits him, and has plenty of charisma to be a leader when the need arises. He doesn't like it when innocent things/people are picked on and will risk himself to help if he has to, something that's carried over from when he was a kid.

Weaknesses - He's kind of an asshole. Kinda. But he's not 100% a dick. A bit selfish, which can add to the asshole bit, but when push comes to shove Peter can put that aside and be pretty damn heroic. He doesn't learn, says so himself, he'll continue to do things that can put him into danger or get him in trouble, but if there's something he thinks is worth it. Well. He'll go for it.

Network/Action Spam Sample: Peter being Peter. Of course.

Prose Log Sample:

It's still weird, waking up every day in this 'box' place and realizing that he's probably, most definitely, on Earth. He's been to many planets and different places in his time out in space and Earth just had that look to it. Every planet had it's own kind... identity. Even though he'd spent so little time there compared to every where else, he'd know his home planet if he'd spent hundreds of years away.

Everything gave it away really. The cars, though practically just junk parts at this point, the way the buildings are built and styled, lot of the items he'd seen around, just. Little things. The smell too. The air was different here, smelled a certain way, the sky and cloud just-- okay maybe he was putting too much thought into it, but still. He was sure of it.

Which was why he was doing a hell of a lot of snooping around on his own after learning stuff from people who'd been trapped in the box longer. There was a watchtower in Northtown, good place to get a proper look around from way up. Which has him spotting a pretty big building, surrounded by swamp and a nasty looking fence. Probably electric or something nasty. Collapsing his helmet back into the earpiece he wore, Peter will climb down the tower and start making his way there. He needed answers, everyone did.

Course what he hadn't seen up on the tower were the alligators in the swamp. Lucky for him though, he'd since found his blasters and put them on their stun setting, no need to actually kill the gators, he just needed to make them not want to eat him that's all. Blasting his way through the swamp with relative ease, he figures the rest will be a piece of cake too. Until he gets to the facility that is. Helmet coming back on he'll scan the area to see if there are any signs of others around, doesn't seem to be any guards or what not. Hmm. The fence doesn't look THAT hard to get over, not with his rocket boosters at least. So taking some steps back away from said fence, to get a running start, Peter runs and jumps, hitting the boosters just at the top of his jump.

It'll send him sailing up and up and--- shitshitSHIT!

Not quite making it over, Peter slams into the top of the fence, instinctively grabbing onto it and is given a pretty bad shock. Thankfully he doesn't black out but does suffer momentary paralysis from the shock and it hurts like a son of a bitch. His boosters have since cut off and he'll be falling back towards the ground and just before he hits he'll manage to get them going again, saving himself from a nasty landing. After that he just. Needs a minute.

"Aaugh!" Don't mind if he just. Sits. In pain and discomfort. His whole body is sore, muscles screaming at him, heart racing wildly. Now he just, lays back on the ground, staring up at the sky and every breath he takes feels like he's breathing in cool winter air. Not the first time he's ever been electrocuted, but goddamn if it's not ever any less of a miserable experience. Body sluggish from it all, he doesn't move for a bit, trying to think about his next course of action. Instead he lamely rubs his hand over his face and up into his hair, hair that's a bit wonky right now from what just happened.

"Good job, ahole. Real smooth." Grumbled to himself. He planned on getting over that damn fence... eventually. Maybe not right now. Yeah.
